This guide provides detailed explanation of all DVD data structures found in the small DVD project supplied with this guide. The supplied project illustrates many advanced navigation and typical menu features found in most commercial DVDs. The objective of this guide is to help you understand and master the complexities of these advanced internal data structures of a typical commercial DVD title that is 100%-compliant. A 100%-compliant DVD disc plays on all DVD players and computer DVDs.

The supplied DVD title has two video titles in a single video title set (VTS). Each video title contains three chapters. Each chapter can be randomly chosen from a user remote control. The video title set has a root menu, angle menu, and chapter menu. The root menu allows access to each chapter of the first video title. The chapter menu allows access to each chapter of the second video title. The angle menu provides an option to play back the video titles in a continuous fashion, or to return to the appropriate root menu or chapter menu depending upon whether the first or second video title is being played back, respectively. The chapters in the DVD title are seamless so that the playback flow does not pause or has any noticeable interruption.
