Graphical display of typical usage of LinkPTT
LinkPTT can be used as a precommand or postcommand of a PGC,
or as a cell command, or as a button command of a menu item in the title domain only. LinkPTT transfers
playback from one PGC to another program (Part-Of-Title) in another PGC of the same title. The destination
program (PGN) specified by LinkPTT must be defined as a chapter (program stop) in the Part-Of-Title PTT table.
A PTT is a pair of Program Chain number (PGCN) and a program (PGN) within this specified PGC.
Virtual commands performing similar functions to LinkPTT are LinkPGN and JumpVTS_PTT.
LinkPGN is used to link
to programs in the same PGC, and
JumpVTS_PTT is used to link to
programs in different titles in the same VTS. The DVD specifications do not allow linking to a program in
a different VTS. The following illustration shows typical usage of LinkPTT as arrows drawn in magenta.
