WinMX will perform some connection tests to configure itself. If you are behind a firewall or proxy server, just cancel the test.


Most home users do not have proxy servers so the default choice is NO. WinMX does not work well with proxy server, so if you have one (mostly at work), you will need to supply proxy-specific parameters here.


You should leave the default TCP connection port 6699 as is.




You should leave the default UDP connection port 6257 as is.
