Generally, I just shrink these long DVDs but the quality was so nice on these Cheers discs I went looking for a 2-disc option. Glad I found DVD-Replica.

I do the VTS selection the way you suggested for the first disc (I skip the second disc). Then for the second disc I select the main title, keep the VTS, keep the VMG, and skip the first disc. The special features work on my standalone player and my Playstation 2. Thanks,

It took a while, but I did figure out the scheme for the James Bond special edition movies.
I just use the vts tab, keep the vts and vmg, and I get a two-disc set with working menu and special features. I really think this software can contend with 321 Studio's overpriced and bug filled backup program.
