Karaoke discs are a special type of DVD-Video disc which have the same navigation
structures. A typical DVD-Video karaoke disc contains songs which are formatted as
titles. Titles are generally grouped into video title sets (VTS) based upon the
artist, the performer or a particular musical style. The principal difference
between karaoke and standard DVD-Video is the way the audio streams are structured.
Karaoke discs are required to contain multichannel audio, usually Dolby 5.1 AC-3.
Channels 0 and 1 contain the background instrumental music, and are generally
directed to the left and right speaker, respectively. Channels 2 through 5 can
have any combination of guide vocals, guide melodies, and sound effects.
SetAMXMD (Set Audio Mixing Mode for Karaoke) performs operations to set the
appropriate mixing mode to send a channel to the left speaker, to the right speaker,
to both speakers, or to no speakers by setting the proper bits in the input
operands.
The following mixing modes are available:
Mix channel 2 and channel 0 (to the left speaker).
Mix channel 3 and channel 0 (to the left speaker).
Mix channel 4 and channel 0 (to the left speaker).
Mix channel 2 and channel 1 (to the right speaker).
Mix channel 3 and channel 1 (to the right speaker).
Mix channel 4 and channel 1 (to the right speaker).
The mixing mode can be specified as one of the following:
1) the parameter is in another GPRM register, or
2)
the parameter is in SetAMXMD's operand.
This command can be combined with the
Compare GPRM operations
for conditional branching. When combining, this command is
executed only if the result of the comparison is true.
1)
Compare to another GPRM register and SetAMXMD
2)
Compare to another SPRM register and SetAMXMD
