This text effect creates types in their shiny metallic chrome appearance. This style looks best with thin typeface (light weight) in black and white design with pale shades of shadow. You can use this style for your text logo design, web page header design, menu navigation, or use it as a base to add more embellishments later. This style is an enhanced version of the standard chrome style available in the open source GIMP (GNU Image Manipulation Program).

You can specify a color hue to the standard black and white chrome look. The rendered text can be placed on either a plain color or another background pattern. With many combinations of font choices, pattern or gradient overlays, this single effect is very flexible to give your design unlimited potential.

What gives the text its three- dimensional depth appearance is the careful placement of the drop shadow. Here you can choose the drop shadow color, size, and distance from its source object to simulate the location of the light source. The larger the drop shadow size, the blurrier its appearance is.
