This text effect creates types in their shiny metallic gold appearance with
dark tarnish patterns. This style offers four variations of the rusty patterns and looks best
on dark background which enhances the gold color of the text. You can use this style for your
text logo design, web page header design, menu navigation, or use it as a base to add more
embellishments later. This style is a modified Script-fu version of the standard Sota Chrome
style available in the open source
GIMP
(GNU Image Manipulation Program).
You can specify different gold patterns with dark brown spot reflections. The rendered text can be
placed on either a plain color or another background pattern. With many combinations of font choices,
pattern or gradient backgrounds, this single effect is very flexible to give your design unlimited
potential.
What gives the text its three- dimensional depth appearance is the careful placement of the drop shadow.
Here you can choose the drop shadow color, size, and distance from its source object to simulate the
location of the light source. The larger the drop shadow size, the blurrier its appearance is.
The following illustration shows a short text string in the default gold color pattern.
The gold text effect engine behind this page can produce a text pattern on a plain color
background, or plain color text on a background pattern, or both.
